Erinn Doncaster, MA RSW SEP
Erinn (she/her) is a social worker, counsellor, and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner who specializes in helping her clients heal from trauma and relational wounds. Erinn’s clients are individuals, families, and romantic partners of all sexual and relational orientations who want to move toward greater capacity, ease, and aliveness within themselves and within their relationships.
In addition to her Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, Erinn has completed training in Somatic Experiencing for trauma resolution and Myrna Martin’s Pre and Perinatal Developmental Trauma healing work. Erinn has also received supervision in couples/relationship therapy from an Emotionally Focused Therapy perspective.
In addition to her counselling experience, Erinn’s career has included sex education with a queer, feminist, sex-positive organization in Eastern Canada; helping Indigenous families address and break the cycles of intergenerational trauma stemming from colonization; and supporting birthing families during pregnancy, labour, birth and postpartum. These experiences inform Erinn’s approach to counselling and have left her with the conviction that as human beings, we all carry the seeds of healing and wellness inside of us, even when things feel utterly overwhelming and hopeless; Erinn believes her job is to work together with you to create the right conditions for your specific context so those seeds can find purchase and grow.
Erinn knows from personal experience that shining light on painful wounds takes courage, and she has great respect for all of her clients for their courageous willingness to move toward healing.
Lauren Shay, MSW RCC RSW
Hello. My name is Lauren Shay ( and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with the BC College of Social Workers. I obtained my Bachelors and Masters degrees at the University of British Columbia. I have also obtained advanced clinical training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, Somatic Therapy, The Gottman Method, Sex Therapy, and Sexual Health Education. My work background is mostly with non-profits, with a focus on trauma therapy for women who have experienced violence. I recognize how difficult it can be to take the step of contacting a therapist for help, and the courage that it takes to look at our own patterns of relating with ourselves, our loved ones, and the world as a whole and I am passionate about helping my clients to access the courage to do this brave work. I also recognize that each person who walks through the door to my counselling office carries with them unique life circumstances and challenges. I acknowledge that you are the expert of your own experiences, and I would be honoured to collaborate with you in your journey of personal growth. My therapeutic practice is guided by an attachment-based, trauma informed, client-centred, feminist, and strengths-based framework. I aim to be part of a movement to help build a more compassionate, caring, respectful, and equal world.
